Antrim are the only Ulster team to appear in an All-Ireland hurling final. Losing to Cork in 1943 and bravely succumbing to Tipperary in 1989 after a memorable victory against Offaly in the semi-final. When Antrim played in the 1911 All Ireland Football Final, as was the custom in those days, they were represented by county champions Seaghain An Diomais who played in saffron. The county then adopted these colours. The Shauns, as they were known, are supposed to have used saffron as a nod to the then vibrant linen industry in Antrim. Like to add something?
