With a Clare-man, Michael Cusack from Carron, being the person who lit the torch that led to the founding of the GAA in 1884, it is not surprising that the county took an active part in the activities of the new association from the very beginning. Clare have won four all-Ireland hurling senior titles. The curse of Biddy Early and out pouring of joy and relief for the 81 year wait between all-Ireland titles remains the record wait for a successive title in Senior Championship history. Clares county colours are taken from the Tulla club, the first to be formed in the county. Like to add something? We’d love to hear from you by email: suggestions@ganzee.ie
