Cork is one of the few ‘dual counties’ in Ireland, competing in a similar level in both Gaelic football and hurling. For the Munster senior hurling championship that year against Waterford, the Cork county board used the jerseys of the St Finbarr’s Total Abstinence Hall team, which had merged with St Finbarr’s the previous year. Cork went to win the 1919 all-Ireland final and have worn ‘blood and bandage’ ever since….. Like to add something? We’d love to hear from you by email: suggestions@ganzee.ie
